Law & Public Service

The Law & Public Service program is designed for students interested in careers focused on the legal field, the military, and public service. Students are introduced to legal and judicial topics, forensic science, as well as local, state, and national governmental and social issues.

The Public Service Track

The Public Service Magnet Track is designed for students who are passionate about making a difference in their communities. This program provides a well-rounded education that emphasizes critical thinking, communication, and leadership skills—all essential for careers in the public sector. Students will engage in coursework that explores government, law, public administration, business, and social advocacy, while also developing the ability to analyze complex issues, articulate ideas effectively, and collaborate with diverse groups. Hands-on experiences, such as policy debates, community service projects, field trips to various public service agencies and interactions with leaders in the public service sector, will prepare students for roles in nonprofit organizations, education, law enforcement, and civic leadership.

The Pre-Law Track

This track provides opportunities to connect the specific areas of student interest within the justice system. Judges, lawyers, politicians, and elected officials address classes or are visited by students. Professional contact is essential to the Law Program. Competitive Mock Trial provides students an understanding of legal and courtroom procedure. Competition provides students the opportunity to argue cases and topics while learning research and critical thinking skills.
