At Northeast Magnet, students follow a structured course sequence in their chosen magnet area, beginning with introductory classes as freshmen and progressing to advanced, specialized courses by their senior year. This comprehensive pathway allows students to build skills and knowledge in their focus area, preparing them for both college and career opportunities.

Students MUST start a concentration path by Junior year; however, they can start their concentration classes sophomore year. Students are encouraged to explore different art mediums to see what concentration they will complete by graduation.

Any art class can be taken as electives as long as they are in sequence.

To earn the visual arts magnet certificate, students must earn 6.5 visual art credits, with at least two credits from their concentration, earn 25 total credits, with all art classes and yearly projects completed with a ‘C’ or better, and a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5.
