

Technology
NEM is connected to the world. Students have internet availability in each classroom, a computer lab, and the library. The school has its own local area network. NEM utilizes PC hardware. Technology in the form of robotic arms, wind tunnels, and testing equipment is utilized. All students are expected to use this technology for research, word processing, presentations and communication.
Partnerships
NEM’s science department has strong educational partnerships with Project Lead the Way, Wichita State University, the University of Kansas School of Medicine, Friends University, and Newman University. The department also receives support from Boeing, Raytheon, Access Inc., and other local and national businesses. Partners assist with competitions, instruction, projects and mentorships.
Competitions
NEM science students have successfully competed in academic demonstration and problem solving activities suc as the Kansas Junior Academy of Science, Science Olympiad, Electric Car Competition, BEST Robotics contest, and technical writing contests.
