Library Mission Statement
The mission of the Northeast Magnet Library Media Center is to enhance student achievement by maintaining a sustainable program that provides a flexible schedule and empowers students to engage their world by providing support for research, reading, writing, and technology needs.

Passes

  • All students who are not scheduled with a class must have a pass to use the library during class periods.
  • Students sent to the library during class periods should have a need for the library resources.

Printers/Equipment

  • Printers are only to be used for class assignments and college inquiry.
  • For multiple copies, students should plan to use a copy machine, not the printer.
  • Please ask the library-teacher if you have a need to print more than five pages.

Book Check-out

  • A current student ID is required for checking out books.
  • Book check-out period is two weeks; books may be renewed for an additional two weeks.
  • The library may fine for overdue books; the fee is 10 cents per day.
  • The library will charge for lost and damaged books; the fee will be the cost of the book.

Library Space

  • Food and drinks are permitted only at the tables.
  • Please pick up all trash before you leave.

Computer Use

  • Students are expected to adhere to BOE policies and posted requirements for computer use in the library.
  • Before school, at lunch, and after school, students should be prepared to present their current school ID upon request for computer use.
  • Students are not permitted to share log-ons; anyone found sharing log-on information will be logged off the computers.
  • Computers are to be used for class assignments or college inquiry during class periods.
  • Students may surf the web or play educational games only at lunch, before, and after school.
  • No gaming will be permitted in the library.
  • Email may only be used for school purposes.
  • Computer use will be monitored as required by Federal Mandate.
  • Inappropriate use could result in disciplinary action and loss of computer privileges.

Printing

  • Students may print free of charge for school purposes.
  • If a student prints for non-school purposes, he/she will be charged 10 cents per page.
  • Students may print in color free of charge for school purposes as long as it does not exceed one page.  Students will then be charged one dollar per page.
