Application Info: Applications are available at NEM, the Magnet School Office (973-4464), or NEM has waiting lists. Those chosen by the district lottery will be invited to attend an enrollment session. Failure to attend the enrollment session will forfeit your student's place at NEM to someone not chosen or late applicants. Applicants will be notified by mail, through the magnet office, of their status in March. Visiting: Parents and students may tour NEM during school hours, 7:15 a.m. to 2:25 p.m., Tuesday through Thursday, by appointment. Call 973-2301 to arrange a visit. |

So what is Northeast Magnet: Northeast Magnet (NEM) is a Visual Arts, Science and Law magnet high school in Wichita, KS. It provides a four-year program of studies for students who want to focus their education in art, science or law fields. The magnet areas, in conjunction with the academic core (required English, math, social studies and science), present an integrated curriculum utilizing technology and annual projects to produce a focused, well-rounded education. The goal is to empower students to engage the world creatively, critically and responsibly. |
