Northeast is constantly growing and improving. With the 2005 bond NEM added science rooms, an enlarged cafeteria and central AC. With the 2008 bond issue, NEM will get two new art studios, a library 4 times larger than our present, and a FEMA safe room.

NEM is a Visual Arts, Science, and Law magnet high school in Wichita, Kansas.  Here students are extremely successful not only in their magnet courses, but in all academic areas!

Future high school students that want to pursue an in depth study in ART, SCIENCE, or LAW are encouraged to apply. To be successful at NEM requires a solid background in mathematics and language arts. Students that are performing at grade level reading, writing, and math are likely to be very successful. NEM courses are rigorous and fully prepare students for college.

Location: Northeast Magnet is located two blocks west of WSU on 17th street (fyi: 2 blocks west from the McDonalds at 17th and Hillside).

Student Body: NEM typically has an enrollment between 560-580 students.

Building: NEM was build in 1950 originally as a middle school.
